Dropbox has just released its first Gmail plug-in, an alternative to its Chrome extension for Gmail, so users can share files and folders hosted in their Dropbox accounts and save new files to Dropbox without switching between applications.
This is the first of the integrations to be launched as a result of the new partnership with Google Cloud.
This allows users to share files and folders that always point to the latest versions, regardless of their size, so that recipients can access them without having to install special software.
They can also save attachments such as dropbox links to other files that are sent to their Dropbox accounts via email messages. To use the new add-on, simply go to the G Suite Marketplace to activate it.
The cross-platform plug-in works with any web browser and the Gmail application for Android and soon for the Gmail application for iOS.
