Death Stranding shows its performance with DLSS 2.0 and it’s amazing

Death stranding

Nvidia has confirmed that the PC version of Death Stranding will support DLSS 2.0, the AI-based technology that can deliver 4K-like images with faster performance than the native images.

Death stranding demonstrates its power with DLSS 2.0 and is incredibly

In Nvidia’s Guide for Death Stranding Analysts, the company published a selection of benchmarks for gaming with its RTX and RTX Super Series products. These data confirmed that any RTX graphics card is capable of running Death Stranding at 4K 60+ FPS on PCs when DLSS is used. This fact makes DLSS a real differentiator for Nvidia graphics cards.

HardwareLuxx has published the Nvidia guide on Twitter, and we have confirmed the validity of these slides internally. Analysts of the PC version of Death Stranding are currently not allowed to publish detailed performance data, so Nvidia slides are the only data that is available. Furthermore, we are not sure whether the content of the latest Nvidia documentation may be released on DLSS. Fortunately for us, the content of these slides has already been published by a third party.

Death stranding

At 1080p, we can see that DLSS 2.0 can have a big impact on Death Stranding performance, but not as much as what we see at higher resolutions. Not bad considering the proven quality of DLSS 2.0 in games like Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries and Control.

If the resolutions are increased to 1440p, DLSS 2.0 is sufficient to easily reach over 100 FPS on RTX series graphics cards. This is great news, much better than playing at 30 FPS on the PlayStation 4 version.

Death stranding

At 4K, DLSS 2.0 in quality mode is capable of running the entire Nvidia RTX series Death Stranding at an average of more than 60 FPS. These figures should increase in performance mode.

These are the minimum and recommended requirements of the game:

Minimum (720p 30FPS)

  • Operating system: Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 560 4GB
  • DirectX 12
  • HDD: 80GB

Recommended (1080p 30fps)

  • Operating system: Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB or Radeon RX 570 4GB
  • DirectX 12
  • HDD: 80GB

Recommended (1080p 60fps)

  • Operating system: Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 590

Xbox Series S release date is closer than you think

Xbox Series S release date is closer than you think

Important information about the Xbox Series S, a new affordable console from Microsoft has returned. And now, ‘Eurogamer’ reveals when it will be released.

The announcement of the Xbox Series S is closer than you think

The Xbox Series S or Xbox Lockhart, as the cheap next-generation console from Microsoft is currently known, is still making noise after its possible specifications were revealed last week. Now the Eurogamer portal is providing relevant data on its announcement, reinforcing rumors that the launch will take place very soon. According to media reports, Microsoft will confirm the hardware during an event in August.

Microsoft had planned to launch the Xbox Series S during E3 2020, but the coronavirus ruined their plan.

However, the source points out that the original plan of the Redmond was to introduce the Xbox Series S at E3 2020. The event in Los Angeles, the largest and most important in the gaming industry, was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. All companies had to come up with a plan B to introduce their new products for the next generation of consoles, including Microsoft.

In fact, the company is planning another event in July, dedicated to unveiling the first exclusive games for the platform. Eurogamer is not the only one to coincide with the presentation in August, as Jeff Grubb of Venture Beat is aiming for the same month. This journalist was the first to report on the date of the PlayStation 5 launch (11 June), so his information is usually quite reliable.

Specifications and possible price

Microsoft wants to make it clear that while the Xbox Series S offers lower technical performance than the Xbox Series X, but all next-generation games can be enjoyed. According to The Verge, the cheap console will have 7.5 GB of usable RAM, a GPU with a performance of up to 4 teraflops, and a CPU with a lower speed. One developer already found mention of Xbox Lockhart in the Xbox One operating system, so its existence is more than assured.

It is obvious that the omission of some components and the visual part is reflected in the price. Eastmen, a well-known gem in the Xbox community, announced that the Xbox Series S will cost half as much as the X Series. The price could go up to $200, making it very attractive to consumers. It will be interesting to see the number of people who are interested in enjoying the visual innovations that the most powerful consoles will offer.

The Last of Us already runs at 4K in the latest version of the PlayStation 3 emulator

The Last of Us already runs at 4K in the latest version of the PlayStation 3 emulator

The Last of Us can be played at 4K resolution. The team responsible for RPCS3, the PlayStation 3 emulator at heart, continues to work hard to maintain and constantly improve its product, and the latest update brings the incredible power of running The Last Of Us at 4K.

The acclaimed Naughty Dog title now runs at a constant 4K at 30 FPS with no problem. This is done using a configuration based on an overclocked 5.1GHz Core i9-9900K and a GTX 1080 graphics card.

As we can see, the graphical quality of the game is unfortunately not the best, as it is a game from 2013, designed for the hardware from 2006, and therefore its textures and physics are far from what we are used to today. However, it is a great achievement for the emulator to be able to run it at such a high resolution of over 30FPS, and so we congratulate its developers for the excellent work they are doing for the community.

Resident Evil Resistance: Nemesis is playable

Resident Evil Resistance

With the latest update to Resident Evil: Resistance, you can use the dangerous nemesis as a playable character for the first time in the franchise. Russian Special Forces Chief Nicholai Ginovaef will also be added as a new mastermind, who will be selected during the online multiplayer mode in the RE3 remake.

Resident Evil Resistance: the fury of the Nemesis

R.E. Resistance, originally intended to be a title spin-off, pitted four survivors against a mastermind who set traps and monsters for them. You can choose to play as Nicholai, controlling Nemesis to hunt down the survivors, but not only. You can use camera-mounted firearms and tracking devices to keep an eye on enemies.

In a recent interview with PlayStation’s Tim Turi, the team at Capcom, creators of Resident Evil 3 and Resistance, talked about how they’ve redesigned Nemesis to suit the tastes of a new audience; the character still repeats the word “STARS” several times but now has a new outfit and the ability to infect zombies with pests. You’ll also be able to handle a rocket launcher powerful enough to wipe out entire teams of survivors at once. Exciting, isn’t it? To enjoy the Nicholai/Nemesis characters, all you have to do is download the free update from the shop.

Resident Evil 3 Remake features a multiplayer structure with 4 vs. 1 gameplay; you can play up to four players as survivors against an evil mastermind that wants to stop them from escaping. Nemesis is not the first of the title’s updates. Jill Valentine was also recently introduced as an additional DLC.

Crysis Remastered will be released on all platforms this summer and will focus on the original single-player campaign. This new version is a cooperative project between Crytek and Saber Interactive, which has already worked on a variety of ports.

According to the announcement, the remastering will include an HD texture package, temporary anti-aliasing, SSDO, SVOGI, advanced depth of field, new lighting settings, motion blur, particle effects and parallax occlusion mapping. Other additions such as volumetric fog and light beams, software-based ray tracing and reflections add significant visual enhancement to the game.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries incorporates support for Ray-Tracing

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries incorporates support for Ray-Tracing

The latest update of MechWarrior 5: Mercenary has officially added ray-tracing effects for lighting and shadows. If you have the right hardware, you will be able to see much more realistic lighting thanks to the use of this technology.

The patch, which updates Mercenaries to version 1.0.233, includes several options for users of Nvidia RTX graphics. Not only can you enable ray tracing, but you can also use DLSS 2.0 and adjust the quality of shadows and reflections. DLSS 2.0 can be optimized for quality and performance or achieve a balance between the two.

This patch also includes updates for the game editor. This part of the patch is mainly aimed at modders and fixes errors caused by loading mods in the editor. The community had found a way around this problem, but with the new patch this problem should no longer exist.

Since the implementation of the patch, Piranha has also released a hotfix to fix a bug that caused some players to experience a DirectX 12 error during the initial installation. This should no longer be a problem, so you can install it with confidence.

Resident Evil 3 remake had a worldwide sales of 2 million copies within five days

Capcom reported that Resident Evil 3 remake sold two million copies worldwide in five days. The new Resident Evil 3 is a reinvented version of the 1999 Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, which sold approximately 3.5 million units.

Resident Evil 3 remake had a worldwide sales of 2 million copies within five days

The new game incorporates fresh ideas and uses the latest technology using Capcom’s RE graphics engine. The title not only rejuvenates the original story and environment but also offers new gaming experiences. Players will enjoy not only the single-player campaign mode but also a multiplayer mode. Finally, RE3R comes with Resident Evil Resistance.

The digital versions of the game accounted for almost 50% of sales due to Capcom’s digital promotion strategy. Thanks to this and the free demo, more than two million units were shipped in the first five days after the game’s release.

This success follows the continued sales growth of Resident Evil 2 Remake, of which 6.5 million copies have already been sold.

Capcom is currently working on both Resident Evil 8 and Resident Evil 4 remake.

Resident Evil 8 would be called Resident Evil 8: Village, following Ethan Winters’ story

Resident Evil 8 would be called Resident Evil 8: Village, following Ethan Winters

Recent rumors initially confirm that it will be released in 2021. Most importantly, we are hearing that Resident Evil 8 will be called Resident Evil Village.

Rumors suggest that the next episode of the Resident Evil saga will be entitled “Village”. This is probably a temporary title, which means it is subject to change.

There are also rumors about the characters involved in Resident Evil 8. First of all, the main character is probably the same as in Resident Evil 7, Ethan Winters. Chris Redfield is also back, and he will play an important role in the game. It seems that we will see him in flashbacks related to Ethan and his girlfriend Mia.

Ethan and Mia have a baby now, but it’s not clear how this will affect the narrative. Chris won’t look like he did the last time we saw him either. This time he’ll look less heroic than before. We’ll get to see him shoot Ethan and Mia in one of the flashbacks.

Resident Evil 8 would be called Resident Evil 8: Village, following Ethan Winters' story

According to the report published by our colleagues in the Video Game Chronicle, Resident Evil 8 would use the first-person perspective like its predecessor. Recently, the re-releases of Resident Evil 2 & 3 had somewhat abandoned the FPS perspective.

Returning to the game would mean a desire for more immersion for the player, and a possible episode in virtual reality would decrease. According to the information, new mechanisms would be introduced in Resident Evil 8. Very little information was given on this subject.

Other details tell of one of the enemies of the game, a witch who manipulates insects and can disappear in a cloud of them if we defeat her. She should appear for the first time at a demonstration of the game.

Finally, it seems that Capcom will experiment again with the concept of inventory management. It’s testing an RE7-style interface alongside an RE4-style interface.

The latter suggests that RE4 could also get a remake. However, nothing is known for sure yet. We will definitely keep you informed.

If this information is correct, we may know more about the future of Resident Evil by the end of the month. Since Resident Evil 7 was introduced in 2017, a new game next year is quite plausible.

The Last of Us 2, press demo of will not reach the players

After the delayed release of The Last of Us 2, it appeared that voices were providing players with a demo version for journalists to play before. This way, players who were longing to get their game back could at least get a replacement.

The Last of Us 2 delayed for an indefinite period of time

The Last of Us 2

The vice president of The Last of Us 2 explained the reasons for this in the official PlayStation Blogcast radio play. According to Gaming Bolt, Neil Druckman said that releasing a demo to the press at a controlled event was completely different from releasing a demo to a larger audience. Since this version of the game was shown to journalists, many production improvements have also been made. Druckman added that creating a demo would require an enormous amount of work that they don’t want to put on their team. The studio prefers to dedicate these efforts to the completion of the game itself.

The Last of Us is one of the most important exclusive games on PlayStation. Millions of players are waiting for the game, but on April 2nd, Naughty Dog announced that the release was again postponed. The game was originally scheduled for release in February, but was subsequently postponed to 29 May 2020, and is now indefinitely postponed. The creators did not give a specific date and justified their decision with logistical problems independent of them. They did not mention the ongoing crisis directly, but you can read it between the lines.

Naughty Dog is not the first company that had to postpone the premiere because of this – you will have to wait longer for Wasteland 3 and Minecraft Dungeons and Marvel’s Iron Man in VR. Fortunately, these problems don’t apply to the hit of “Polish CD Projekt” and “Cyberpunk 2077”.
