Folding mobile phones have been a reality since last year, with several models on the market so far, such as the Galaxy Z Flip. At some point, Apple will also enter this market segment with a foldable iPhone. That’s why the American brand has several patents, and now a new one is being added using a new type of glass.
Apple patents a new type of glass for a foldable iPhone
If so, the brand would rely on cutting a series of slits on the inside of the glass surface, which gives the glass the flexibility to bend without breaking.
Users would not notice any of these cuts because they would be hidden and filled with other material, while the screen of such a foldable iPhone would be plain and look normal. Undoubtedly, it is another bet by Apple for folding phones, but they are looking for the phone’s screen to fold normally and without any problems with the operation of the phone.
This patent was filed in March this year. Of course, the fact that it received a patent does not give us any guarantee. It is not known what kind of folding is going to be brought to the market by the American company in the first place.
At least we can see that Apple is also working on a foldable iPhone, so at some point, it will enter this market of foldable phones, so it will surely be a beginning of great interest around the world.
