We are seeing how the phone industry has been working on a folding phone for some time now. Several companies already have a patent on this type of phone. The last one to join is Huawei. The Chinese brand holds a patent for a folding phone that can be turned into a tablet. Therefore, it once again highlights the intentions of the market.

The Chinese brand thus joins companies such as Samsung that already have a patent on this type of phones. This Huawei patent is dated September 2017.

In this case, the phone that the Chinese brand shows on the patent has a single display. But it is a screen that can be folded until the device becomes a tablet. It has a mechanism similar to the one currently in place in the Microsoft Surface Book. So it can be turned into a tablet when it’s open. So it will give consumers a lot of choices.

The fact that the screen can be folded means that it will be made of a flexible material and will not break. However, no mention has been made of the materials or proportions of the device so far. So we can’t say anything about it.

It is clear that the industry wants folding phones to become a reality. Because the number of companies with patents in this sense is growing steadily, with Huawei as the most recent. We will have to wait to hear more about this project.
