We already know that AMD’s Radeon Navi series 7nm graphics cards will be on the market this year, and AMD is reluctant to provide much detail on this, especially as we don’t know exactly when the first models will be released on this architecture.
It is rumored that AMD’s Navi graphics card series will be on the market about a month after the third generation of Ryzen processors due to be launched in mid-2019. This leads us to suspect that Navi could be on the market in August between Siggraph and Gamescom 2019.
As a product focused on video games, the launch of Navi during Gamescom would be very useful, although AMD may have some demonstrations of the technology they will be sharing during Computex or E3.
This report was written by Wccftech, who had reported on Mike Rayfield’s departure from AMD prior to his official announcement and Radeon VII prior to the unveiling of the product. Navi is expected to be a major change from AMD’s old GCN-based graphics products, although it is not yet known exactly what the architecture will look like.
Navi’s first roadmaps refer to both “scalability” and “next-generation memory”. The first graphics cards based on this new architecture would be center and lower oriented, replacing Polaris in this segment.
