The SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD deserved a recommendation in the past. Meanwhile, a new version of the external hard drive, the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD, is available on the market. In addition to the new form factor, the SSD is now available with the USB-C connection in memory sizes between 250 GB and 2 TB at prices starting at 95 euros.
The manufacturer promises read speeds of up to 550 MB/s for the new version of the storage medium. A short 10 cm USB-C cable and an additional USB-A adapter, included in the scope of delivery ensure that the disk is flexible for use on Macs and Windows PCs.
The compact dimensions and a rugged case of the SSD Extreme Portable include splash-proof protection, making it ideal for portable use. SanDisk is especially aimed at photographers.
