Internally an M.2 NVMe SSD is being used, taking advantage of the 40Gbps that Thunderbolt 3 is capable of offering. Since if on the one hand this interface is capable of offering the possibility of external GPUs. It was more than evident that we would end up seeing external SSDs Great performance based on this port.

Also, the drive does not need an external power supply, apparently taking advantage of the Thunderbolt 3 port (via USB Type-C). That is capable of delivering 15 Watts. So, to the 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 3 and the 3.0 gen2 Phison E8 (NVMe) PCI-E controller. In addition, SSD provides outstanding performance, with sequential transfer rates that reach 1500 MB / s read, and 1000 MB/s write.

Regarding availability and prices, Patriot EVLVR will arrive on the market in March. That comes with costs of $ 199.99, $ 289.99 and $ 489.99 respectively for the 256GB, 512GB and 1TB models respectively.
