SSD EX900 Pro, HP announces up to 1 TB at data rate of 2 GB/s

HP extends its catalog with a new line of SSDs, the EX900 Pro. These NVMe solutions use a PCIe 3.0 interface and are available in various capacities.

The EX900 Pro is an M.2 2280 SSD. This number refers to dimensions of 22 mm wide versus 80 mm long. The EX900 Pro supports NVMe 1.3 and uses a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface. Its mechanical design ensures sustained throughput without breaking any new records.

EX900 Pro details

At this point, HP announces maximum sequential read and write speeds of 2095 MB/s and 1965 MB/s for the 1 TB version. The IOPS results are 283K and 286K for random reads and write in 4K file processing.

The press release stipulates the presence of 3D NAND chips but does not specify the type. Each SSD comes with a 5-year warranty with a lifetime of between 650 and 160 TBW depending on capacity. The range consists of three versions with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The mention “Pro” refers to the presence of multiple data protection technologies. An example is the error correction code NANDXtend (ECC).
