Oculus Quest was formerly known as Project Santa Cruz, and that has been made clear that Oculus Quest is the final name of the new VR helmet. Also, it comes with a super “affordable” price of about USD$399 for the 64GB model, which is very economical compared to the other wireless glasses available on the market.
Nowadays the Augmented Reality, Virtual and Mixed glasses are part of the product catalog of many companies like Apple, HTC, Amazon, Google, Samsung and others such as Facebook! That is Facebook, which now presents us the Oculus Quest glasses, which are going to be a version with better features than the Oculus Go.
Oculus and Facebook have taken advantage of the annual conference for developers of Oculus. The event features a new pair of wireless Virtual Reality glasses called Oculus Quest.
For the enjoyment of all users, Oculus Quest will act as a game console as it requires neither a PC nor a smartphone to operate and is equipped with two motion controllers that are very similar to those of the Oculus Touch.
In addition, these glasses have four wide-angle cameras to move through the virtual space which allows you to enjoy more of the 50 video games, including those: Robo Recall, The Climb and Moss, although this catalog could be expanded over the months.
Mark Zuckerberg pointed out that this device will integrate two screens with a resolution of 1600 x 1440 closely resembling those of the Oculus Go.
Zuckerberg mentioned that this new Oculus Quest glasses has six degrees of freedom and is equipped with the same sound system and a screen with a resolution of 1,600 x 1,440 pixels per eye as the Oculus Go. However, there are many improvements, for example, you do not need external headphones for immersive listening.
Oculus Quest will be available in the spring of 2019 and will provide virtual reality experience with the resembling quality of the Rift.
So far we don’t have more details about all the features that will be available to us, but after the release, it will be known in detail what other features the Oculus Quest will offer, such as whether we can enjoy movies or compatible applications.
