Microsoft Edge Chromium will arrive on Windows 10 from January 15 through Windows Update

The new Edge Browser, based on the Chromium kernel from Microsoft, is ready for use after months of testing.

In particular, all Windows 10 users with the existing Edge Browser will be upgraded to the new version with the Chromium kernel. No longer just a sketchy browser about special features and the interface from Microsoft, Edge Chromium brings a new life when the support of extensions from Google, integrates some interesting features of Chrome, Chromium kernel also helps websites. In early November 2019, Microsoft confirmed that it will replace the old Edge browser with the EdgeHTML kernel with a new browser with the Chromium kernel. Yusuf Mehdi, vice president of Modern Life and Devices at Microsoft, confirmed that the upgrade process will begin on January 15.

According to PCWorld, all Windows 10 users will be migrated to Edge Chromium, while business customers will have the option to upgrade.

Microsoft says the new Edge browser will automatically upgrade users with Windows 10 Home and Pro versions 1803 and above. If the computer is registered in Active Directory, Azure Active Directory or the company-maintained directory will not automatically upgrade.

The official Edge Chromium version also has a brand new logo (see image above). In addition to interesting features, Microsoft promises to help Edge not consume too many computer resources.
