Gigabyte announces M.2 PCIe SSD family with ranges of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB

Gigabyte has just completed its SSD family with the introduction of the M.2 PCIe SSD family. It consists of three capacities and benefits from a 3.0 x2 PCIe interface.

They are available in M.2 2280 format, 22 mm wide and 80 mm long. Leveraging the benefits of the NVMe, they are available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB versions. Gigabyte promises maximum speeds of 1200MB/s and 800MB/s for sequential reading and writing for the 256GB version. With corresponding speeds of 1,100 MB/s and 500 MB/s, the 128GB model is said to be less efficient.

All these new features take advantage of the PCIe Gen 3.0 x2 interface. Each M. 2 device will be tested with different gigabyte motherboards and several high-load software products.

Jackson Hsu, Deputy Director of the GIGABYTE Channel Solutions Division, said:

“Compared to traditional SATA drives, M.2 devices are more compact and offer better performance, making them ideal for users looking for improved storage performance.”

This PCIe M.2 Gigabyte PCIe SSD Gigabyte comes with a 3-year warranty. The capacities of 128 GB and 256 GB are now available. The 512GB version is planned for later.
