ASUS Zephyrus S17, S16 and TUF Gaming 15/17, new gaming laptops

ASUS officially presents three notebooks, two from the Zephyrus series and one from the TUF Gaming series: the models are: Zephyrus S17, Zephyrus S16, and TUF Gaming 15/17.

The ROG Zephyrus S17 is the first notebook in this lineup that is ready for gaming with an Intel Core CPU (i9-11900H) with up to 90W of power and an RTX 3080 GPU that reaches 140W with Dynamic Boost. 48GB of RAM completes the main configuration and up to three PCIe 4.0 NVME SSDs can be populated.

The notebook features a 17-inch QHD resolution, but a 120 Hz 4K display is also available as an option. Both displays support Dolby Vision.

This notebook features a 16-inch WQHD resolution display with a refresh rate of 165 Hz and a response time of 3 ms. Furthermore, the display has Adaptive Sync support.

The display seems to be design-ready with a 16:10 aspect ratio and Pantone-validated colors. Dolby Vision is also present.

The notebook has an audio system with six speakers and two woofers. The Zephyrus M16 is also equipped with 3D microphones that use two-way AI noise cancellation.

Inside we find an i7-11800H processor, an RTX 3070 Ti GPU, and the same 48GB of RAM.

These are the more gaming-focused “budget” offerings from ASUS, featuring i5-11400H processors, an RTX 3060, and about 32 GB of RAM.

The display can be either 15 or 17 inches and each offers 1080p resolution with a refresh rate of 240 Hz and Adaptive-Sync support.

Many of the features present in previous laptops are repeated here, such as a noise-canceling microphone, an advanced cooling system, and Thunderbolt 4 port(s).

The RTX 3060 in the TUF Gaming can reach clock speeds of up to 1630 MHz at 90W with Dynamic Boost. The notebook features the military-grade durability characteristic of the TUF Gaming family.
