We have new news about the upcoming high-end graphics cards from AMD. An AMD graphics processor codenamed “ATI-102-D18802” has recently received RRA certification. This device code refers to a very powerful variant of the Navi-GPU (judging by the nomenclature).
RRA certification is something that all consumer ASICs in South Korea must undergo – just like in the United States. Unlike the United States, however, RRA publishes its certifications in public, which is great for us because it allows us to find new and interesting GPUs that are in the development process. The AMD ATI-102-D18802 GPU received its RRA certification yesterday, so AMD not only completed its plans for the next GPU but also submitted them to the authorities (no design changes possible).
The tables of the various AMD-ATI GPU architectures are known as follows: Hawaii was named C6XXXX, Tonga C7XXXXXX, Fiji C8XXXX, Polaris C9XXXX, Vega D12XXX, and Navi D18XXX.

- Hawaii XT was code-named C67101.
- Tonga had the code name C76501.
- Fiji XT was code-named C88001.
- Polaris 11 was code-named C91103.
- Vega 64 had the code name D12201.
- Navi had the code name D18205.
The pattern seems to be clear here. The first two digits represent the generation, while the next three digits represent relative performance indicators. The first Navi was identified with the last three digits 205, while the newly registered code ends with the number 802, so it would be a more powerful GPU.
Considering that it has just passed the certification, it’s likely that we’ll see the start of the high-end models of the RDNA2-based Navi architecture with the support of Ray Tracing.
After all, this certification does not mean that we will soon see these graphics cards on the market, it will take several months before this happens after the RAA certification. We will keep you informed.
