6nm Ryzen 6000 “Rembrandt” gets a first look

Lisa Su hands us a first look at the Ryzen 6000 processors for laptops that will be on display at CES 2022.

6nm Ryzen 6000 “Rembrandt” gets a first look

The first official image of the upcoming Ryzen 6000 series of APUs has been released. AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su shared it with everyone ahead of CES 2022, which will start in the next few hours.

This new APU uses a new architecture called Rembrandt, based on Zen 3+ cores and intended for notebooks, as a successor to the Ryzen 5000H series.

According to the latest leaks, the Ryzen 6000 “Rembrandt” APU will have up to 8 cores and 16 threads. Thanks to the jump to a 6nm node, the most powerful processors will be able to reach speeds of 5.0 GHz, so it could be the first Ryzen to achieve such performance without manual overclocking.

With the arrival of the Ryzen 6000 APU series for notebooks, a new socket called FP7 also arrives. In addition, support for DDR5 memory has been confirmed, the first Ryzen series to support these new RAM modules. Unfortunately, support for PCIe 5.0 is postponed for another time, so we’ll have to make do with PCIe 4.0. This seems to be a “wise” decision by the red company since there are no components that take advantage of this technology yet.

We may see this series in more detail at CES 2022, where Lisa Su will announce the company’s technological innovations. There are also rumors about a revamped RX 6000M series for notebooks, which would also use a new 6nm process node.
