Microsoft has just uploaded several ISO images of the next major version of Windows 10, Redstone 5. These are available for download and allow a clean installation of the operating system.
As part of the development of Windows 10 Redstone 5, Microsoft offers a new ISO image for installation. However, these are not accessible to everyone. This publication from Microsoft is for Windows Insider users only.
There are three different ISOs. In this way, the giant proposes to install either Windows 10 Redstone 5 Build 17713, 17127 or 17115, at the moment there is no ISO for the recently released 17728 build.
Windows 10 Redstone 5, ISO for what?
If you wonder what these archives are for, the answer is simple. They enable the creation of an installation support (DVD or USB stick) to perform a so-called “clean” installation of the operating system.
A new installation is one of the best solutions to avoid different problems. Knowing that we are in the insider program, it is also a quick way to solve problems that arise when upgrading the existing system.
The final version of Windows 10 Redstone 5 (the RTM) is expected in September. It will be used by the general public in October. The upgrade process requires a step-by-step release. This technique allows Microsoft to make the necessary corrections in case of a problem.
Redstone 5 is a code name for its build version. All right. Its name could be “October 2018 Update”. At the moment this is only a guess since the giant has not yet spoken on this subject.
