There are many reasons to consider with the Windows 10 October update, with new tools like “Your Phone” for Android and iOS phones, software support for DirectX Ray Tracing (DXR) and the addition of “Dark Mode”. Several new features include ‘game mode’ and system behavior during the game.
Users of the latest Windows 10 update will receive “Fewer game interruptions ” when “Game Mode” is enabled, as the operating system now automatically blocks the Windows Update Driver when entering this mode, so there are some notifications that we no longer receive, such as system restart notifications.
Windows 10 users who do not like the game mode can disable it from the Settings menu
“Based on player feedback, we have simplified the operation of the game mode. The game mode removes the installation of the Windows Update driver and blocks interruptions to Windows Update, such as restart notifications, while you are playing. You may also see an improvement in game performance with less SPF variability depending on the game and system.”
Microsoft has promised something similar when incorporating this mode, and the reality is that FPS doesn’t change much, although it can help free system processes in the background and save some RAM memory, but not much more. Reducing the number of notifications we receive while playing is a really positive message.
