Vaunt Specifications
Vaunt has two small modules located on the temples or rods of the glasses. On the left, there are different electronic components that connect to the equipment. On the right side, there is a device to enhance a laser that emits a red, monochromatic image of 400 × 150 pixels, on a holographic reflector located on the right lens of the glasses.
The image is then reflected in the back of the eye, directly in the retina. According to the company, this is not harmful because it is a class one laser that does not cause damage.
The glasses also have sensors, a processor, accelerometer, compass, and Bluetooth to connect to the cell phone. In the future, it is proposed to include a microphone so that it can also interact with virtual assistants through them.
The notifications come as a small rectangle of red light that appears at the far right of the user’s visual field. The idea is that the system is the least intrusive possible. At least that’s what the company says.
For this reason, alerts come with sounds or vibrations. If the user wants to see the information, he will tilt his eyes slightly to the right, and if he decides not to look in that direction and ignore the message, after a while, it will disappear.
