Vaunt, Specifications, Pricing, Working Systems of new Intel’s AR Glasses

Intel comes with the Vaunt, the new AR glasses with great capabilities. Here we will discuss the complete features of Vaunt glasses. Also, you will find the launching date, price, and other information about the new fantasy. The glasses look traditional. But they have a hidden microprojector that shows relevant information.

They integrate a small screen that projects directly into the retina. And thus, Vaunt allows the user to see notifications, recommendations, or reminders. That is to say everything (or part) of what happens on your smartphone directly over your eyes.

Being powered by artificial intelligence, the glasses could also identify relevant information for the user and offer it when it is convenient. This could be from additional information about a restaurant. That is in the user’s visual field or a reminder about where the vehicle was parked.

It is a prototype and in the coming months. So, the company will launch a program for developers to generate applications and specific uses for this gadget, according to The Verge.

They differ from other smart glasses like Google Glass in that they are lighter and do not look bulky. They do not have a camera that protrudes from the side nor do they have extra elements that could make the user feel like a cyborg.

Vaunt Specifications

Vaunt has two small modules located on the temples or rods of the glasses. On the left, there are different electronic components that connect to the equipment. On the right side, there is a device to enhance a laser that emits a red, monochromatic image of 400 × 150 pixels, on a holographic reflector located on the right lens of the glasses.

The image is then reflected in the back of the eye, directly in the retina. According to the company, this is not harmful because it is a class one laser that does not cause damage.

The glasses also have sensors, a processor, accelerometer, compass, and Bluetooth to connect to the cell phone. In the future, it is proposed to include a microphone so that it can also interact with virtual assistants through them.

The notifications come as a small rectangle of red light that appears at the far right of the user’s visual field. The idea is that the system is the least intrusive possible. At least that’s what the company says.

For this reason, alerts come with sounds or vibrations. If the user wants to see the information, he will tilt his eyes slightly to the right, and if he decides not to look in that direction and ignore the message, after a while, it will disappear.

Vaunt compatibility with voice assistants

The glasses will come in different models and designs. To have more details about its use and how it will be implemented, we will have to wait a bit more and see the different applications that will come into this device.

or now, the prototype does not work with voice commands. But we can assume that the final version will allow this feature. And that will work with current assistants such as Siri, Assistant Google, Alexa, Cortana, etc.

Intel shows this prototype of glasses that work at the medium glass. And with features that contribute little more than what a smartwatch does, but something is great in this. The idea that lenses can be more than just a way to correct vision is still alive.
