For a while now, the leading technology companies are betting heavily on the world of augmented reality. The last one that shows interest in this sector is Bose. That is a company popularly known for its sound systems. In the previous hours, Bose has surprised us by announcing that they are developing augmented reality glasses that have caught our attention.
Bose AR: Bose is working on the development of augmented reality glasses
Despite the usual trend, Bose augmented reality glasses will not focus on video, but on audio. Specifically, the company claims that its lenses would be able to introduce different layers of audio in our daily activities (instead of showing layers of visual information in front of us). Apparently, the sound of the glasses would be loud and bright enough to be heard in any situation.
Bearing in mind that these are just the smart glasses. So, the Bose ARs provide us with relevant information related to the world of travel, music, learning and much more. For example, they could translate a signal that we are reading or provide useful information about the area in which we are (such as time). Also, another strength of the glasses of Bose would be the ability to exploit its potential with products. That also includes applications that we already use.
As they say from Bose, the glasses we talked about would have no camera or lens. Instead, the glasses would have sensors. That works to record the movement of the head and would use the GPS of our smartphone. That determines the user’s location. As for the audio technology, it is located on the sides of the glasses.
The company has manufactured a prototype of the Bose AR. As you can see in the image that illustrates this article. Even so, at least for the time being, glasses will only be available to developers and manufacturers. As always, we will remain attentive to any developments related to the project. Also, the company states that it will have its AR SDK ready this summer.
