UDOO BOLT seeks to be the first Mini PC based on a Ryzen V1000 processor

There are hundreds of different Mini PCs on the market, although they all have in common that they all work with an Intel processor. UDOO BOLT wants to put an end to this by becoming the first model equipped with a Ryzen V1000 processor, which opens up a whole world of possibilities.

The Ryzen V1000 is a line of embedded AMD processors under the Zen architecture, which allows you to achieve significant processing power with tight power consumption. These features make these processors ideal for use on extremely compact PCs like this UDOO BOLT. The AMD Ryzen Embedded V1202B processor offers two cores and four wires at 2.30/3.20 GHz with Radeon Vega 3 graphics and a 12-25W TDP. The Ryzen Embedded V1605B 4-core, 8-wire, 2.00/3.60 GHz Radeon Vega 8 graphics and a 12-25W TDP are also discussed.

As we can see, these are processors with very low power consumption, although they require a heatsink with a small fan to prevent overheating. Accompanying these processors will be 32GB of eMMC memory, WiFi 802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.0, an Ethernet port, an infrared port, Arduino connectors, a SATA III slot, three M.2 ports and two SO-DIMM slots with support for up to 32GB of DDR4 memory.

These features make the UDOO BOLT compatible with Windows, Linux and even goes one step further by supporting Arduino. All this for a starting price of 196 euros for the most basic version which includes only the motherboard with all its components and slots, 255 euros with 4 GB of RAM and an external PSU of 65W, and finally 457 euros for the version with 16 GB of RAM, the 65W PSU, a metal chassis and the necessary cables for its use.
