Twiter works on an encrypted direct messaging function

Instagram’s app is not the only one that has clues about some of the features that will come up in the future, but Twitter also seems to hide some mysteries in the APK for Android.

Twiter works on an encrypted direct messaging function

Twitter is preparing a new feature to send encrypted direct messages. Although no comments have been made so far, TC echoes the discovery of Jane Manchun Wong, who points out several details of this function.

For example, these types of messages will have their own section with all the related information, the encrypted keys of both parties, options to consult the conversation, delete it or start a new message, etc. So it would follow the same dynamic as the DM, but with a few extra steps to meet the encryption requirements.

Let’s remember that more than a year ago, Edward Snowden suggested to Jack Dorsey, a feature of this style, that would give extra security to private messages. And the answer, though brief, left the door open to think that Twitter would work on such a solution.

And now, at last, they seem to be developing an interesting proposal that will take the potential of direct messages to another level. Perhaps in the coming months, we will have Twitter statements confirming this function and sharing some details of its dynamics.
