Turing GPUs: NVIDIA Already Stocks Over 1 Million

Next-generation NVIDIA graphics card rumors seem to be accelerating at a relentless pace as we approach its launch. Now it appears that the latest report from Digitimes (via PCGamesN) says that NVIDIA looks very well prepared for the launch of its new Turing graphics cards (GTX 11).

NVIDIA reportedly has a large stockpile for the next-generation launch with approximately one million GeForce GTX 11 (Turing) graphics cards, which are stored and ready for mass retail delivery.

As the demand for graphics cards for the crypto-currency industry falls, this causes inventory problems for card vendors and there is a large stock of current generation graphics cards that needs to disappear before the next generation is released to the market. The problem arose mainly after NVIDIA overestimated the demand from the mining industry and overproduced the current generation of GPUs, which are now inactive due to the’low’ demand for these cards.

With more than a million next-generation GeForce graphics cards in stock, NVIDIA is more ready than ever, but before that, the current GeForce cards (Pascal) have to be sold to make room for them – until that happens, NVIDIA will have to wait.

NVIDIA Says GPU Prices Will Continue to Increase

The question that remains to be asked is whether one million GPUs will be enough to meet the demand of millions of players around the world? We know that NVIDIA will be virtually unrivaled as soon as Turing cards enter the market, and depending on the results and prices, there may be explosive demand in the first few weeks of launch. Let’s hope that million doesn’t fall short.
