The first fully passive Mini-PCs have arrived with AMD Ryzen from the British manufacturer Tranquil. Let’s get to know them.
The new Mini-PCs will feature integrated AMD Ryzen embedded processors that offer very effective solutions with low power consumption for this format.
In particular, you can choose between the Ryzen Embedded V1202B or V1605B. The first has two cores and four execution wires at a turbo frequency of up to 3.2 GHz, and a very modest Vega 3 integrated graphics, while the second has 4 cores and 8 wires, so it’s much more interesting to have a 3.6 GHz turbo and the integrated Vega 8, the same one we should find in processors like the Ryzen 3 2200G and give a decent performance for multimedia tasks.
The new devices have 8 to 32GB of memory and are always dual-channel, and an M.2 SSD of 250GB to 1TB, without revealing whether they work via the SATA or NVMe interface. In terms of connectivity, we have the option of Gigabit LAN, WiFi ac, and Bluetooth.
Tranquil Mini PC: quiet Mini-PC
The front of the device has a USB 3.1 type C, 1 USB 2.0, one audio input and output (jack), while the back of the device has 2 Ethernet ports, 2 USB 2.0 and 4 display ports. The latter is remarkable, as this device is designed to support up to 4K displays.
The Mini PCs from Tranquil will be available from 30 August for 765 Euro for the Ryzen Embedded 2-Core, 4-wire version with 250GB SSD, while the top version with 16GB RAM and 250GB SSD costs 880 Euro. The higher version contains 32GB RAM and a 1TB M.2 for 1300 Euro. All versions have the same connectivity, 3-year warranty, and a 60-watt external power supply.
These teams promise a lot in a very short time, weigh less than 2 kilos and measure only 18×15.7×5.4 centimeters – what do you think of Tranquil’s bet?
