According to Bloomberg’s popular Mark Gurman, Apple is modernizing its Mac computer line and will soon introduce new features such as a new MacBook Air “the cost” and a revised Mac mini.
New MacBook Air and Mac Mini after the holidays
The next MacBook Air, which Gurman calls “low cost,” will be similar in design to the current model, but with thinner frames around the screen, which will retain a size of 13.3 inches, although it will have a retina screen as a long-awaited novelty.
However, rumors have been circulating for weeks that the next laptop will be part of the MacBook family or will remain a MacBook Air laptop. Gurman now makes it clear that the new device is positioned as a MacBook Air Upgrade, especially for students and schools, at a lower price than the MacBook models.
Apple is also working on an upgrade to Mac mini, the brand’s cheapest computer, which has not been updated since October 2014. Few details are known about the new equipment, but rumors point to new memory options and new processors that could make it more expensive, sad news if it turns out to be true.
As early as 2017, there were rumors that Apple was working on a Mac mini that would be “not so small anymore”, which would correspond to a machine with more powerful and less compact components.
Bloomberg suggests that Apple plans to launch the new Macs in October, after the traditional September event, where we will see the launch of new iPhone devices and probably also new Apple Watch models.
