The team driving the best Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, has recently released a new release of it. These are Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us, which run on the PC through this latest version of RPCS3.
Now, as you’ll immediately notice, there are still important graphical errors and bugs in both games. Not only that but also the performance is not so good. ZEROx used an Intel i9 9900k with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1070 to run The Last Of Us. Despite using the most powerful gaming CPU on the market, The Last Of Us averaged between 14 and 19 fps.
On the other hand, John GodGames Emus used an Intel Core i7 8700K overclocked to 5.0Ghz with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080 G1 Gaming GPU. Nevertheless, and similar to The Last of Us, Uncharted 3 worked at about 15 fps in the latest version of RPCS3.
RPCS3 evolves with time
It’s obvious that these two exclusive Playstation 3 titles won’t play well on PCs in the short term. Or at least for most users who use a midrange CPU/GPU. But it’s really great to see RPCS3 evolve over the years.
