Three of the most famous games of the last generation of consoles are losing their online game modes. The Last of Us, Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 can no longer be played in online multiplayer after the developer’s announcement. The servers of Uncharted 2: The Kingdom of Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Fraud, The Last of Us and The Last of Us: Left Behind for PlayStation 3 close this Wednesday, September 4th.
Naughty Dog announced the server shut down last June: “The multiplayer modes Uncharted and The Last of Us on PlayStation 3 have defined their respective sagas in the history of Naughty Dog as developers, and we are honored to support the passionate communities that have been growing around them for nearly a decade.
Naughty Dog closes The Last of Us server for PS3
Naughty Dog, the father of these three exclusive PlayStation products, has announced the closure of servers supporting these three titles. Everyone who called the online mode of these games received the additional content for the multiplayer.
The Uncharted trilogy for PlayStation 3 and The Last of Us are games included in the PlayStation Now catalog, Sony’s cloud gaming service. Starting this Wednesday, the online mode of these titles will also no longer be accessible via PS Now. So if you have a PS3 and want to play the last few games in these modes, you can only do it until next Wednesday. If you’re among those who enjoy the experience of these games on PS Now, you won’t be able to play their multiplayer modes either, as these servers were connected to Sony’s cloud gaming service.
The remastering servers released on PlayStation 4 will continue to operate.
