Valve decided to monetize comments and publications on Steam

Spammers need to be cautious because Valve decided to monetize content on the steam platform. Valve continues to enhance Steam with new features, but in addition to all of this, the company will begin to moderate comments and publications to reduce the amount of inappropriate and toxic content.

The company will thoroughly review any publications or messages reported by the community. The measure will take effect next Tuesday, 25 September. It will remove any comments or contributions it deems inappropriate.

“When a player reports a discussion or post to your community, they will be queued for review by our moderation team. We will check all reported releases (along with any other content already reviewed) and remove anything that violates our Steam Community Guidelines,” Valve said on the Steam page.

You won’t see all the releases being made because you want the community to stay as active as it is now. “We will only communicate with players when it is necessary to give them a warning or ban on reported content,” Valve said.

According to Valve, game developers agree that moderation is at a new level.

“Meanwhile, we’ve expanded Valve’s content moderation team to keep pace with the growing number of gaming communities and the amount of content added to the Steam community,” Valve said.

Valve also says that it is possible to disable this option in the Steamwork settings, especially in the General Community tab. This is ideal for those who have their own moderator team or want full control over all the content they are connected to.
