Lexar announces a new family of SSDs, the Professional NM700 SSDs, that leverage the bandwidth and robust throughput offered by PCIe 3.0. The offering consists of three capacities.
The Professional NM700 is an M.2 2280 SSD that supports the NVMe 1.2 protocol. The number 2280 stands for dimensions of 22 mm width versus 80 mm length. Its mechanics include a PCIe 3.0 x4 controller. The range is organized around three capabilities achieved with NAND Flash 3D TLC chips. We have 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
SSD Professional NM700 performance
The 256 GB model has an endurance of 150 TB. It offers a throughput of 3.5 GB for sequential reads and 1.2 GB/s for sequential writes. It achieves IOPS values of 200K and 242K in random read and writes. The NM700 512GB (300TB endurance) is faster at 2GB/s in writing. Its IOPS values when processing 4K files increase to 332k and 275k in random read and write.
Finally, the 1TB model has an endurance of 600TB. Its data rates are identical to those of the 512GB version. On the other hand, it has IOPS values of 293k and 272K for random reading and writing.
These novelties are announced at the current prices of 79.99 €, 110.99 €, and 199.99 € with a 5-year warranty.
