Sonos CEO talks about possible Siri integration

Sonos and Apple are now also competitors in the smart speaker sector. While the Sonos One relies on Alexa, Apple’s HomePod comes with Siri of course. But already in the run-up, it was announced that Sonos would also like to integrate the Google Assistant as well as Siri. In an interview with The Verge, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence spoke about the relationship with Apple and what can be expected in the future.

For a long time, Sonos has offered high-quality speakers that connect to the Internet via WLAN and support all major music streaming services (even Apple Music). The products can be combined to form a home cinema system or “only” a stereo pair. Multiroom audio has also been the norm here for years.

With the Sonos One, a new generation of devices was released at the end of last year and a language assistant was integrated for the first time. Since then, Amazons Alexa can be used to control the music, start audiobooks and use other practical functions. This year, Google Assistant is intended to be an alternative for those who do not want to rely on Amazon.
