In the past few months, Skype has announced several improvements to its platform, some of which are very interesting. For example, we recently talked to you about the possibility of recording calls or confirming the reading of messages, as well as the introduction of a new desktop version. Now Skype has surprised us by announcing compatibility with Spotify, the ultimate music streaming platform.
Spotify now supports messaging applications such as iMessage and Facebook Messenger. This compatibility allows us to share our favorite songs so that the recipient of the message can listen to a fragment of the song without leaving the messaging app. Like they said about Skype, users living in the US with version 8.26 or higher will see a new Spotify icon, as shown in the picture in this article.
The new feature in Skype promises to be very easy to use, as you simply click the new Spotify icon to search for songs, albums, and artists, and you can play any song and share it with friends and family on Skype. Of course, you need a Spotify account. The update is now available for Skype Insider users.
At this point, we can’t deny that it can be a very useful feature for anyone used to sharing songs on Skype, as it makes the task much easier. However, it is important to note that for the time being it will only be available in the United States.
