Resident Evil 8 will arrive next year alongside for both PS5 and Xbox Series X [Rumor]

There is a rumor that Resident Evil 8 will arrive next year, with a great transformation in the popular video game saga. Capcom is currently preparing the remake of Resident Evil 3, but there are several reports that the company is already working on the next sequel to the saga.

Resident Evil 7 changed the concept significantly, requiring a lot of P.T. elements for the location and presentation, and we’ve been concerned ever since about whether Capcom would keep those changes or return to the roots of the saga as they did with the remakes.

According to initial reports, the game has been in development for over three years and the company would try to strip it as far away from the mythology as possible, until the point where it could no longer be called Resident Evil 8.

And this week, Twitter user Dusk Golem, who has already leaked data from the saga, said the game is scheduled for 2021 and will move so far away from a traditional Resident Evil that he expects it will upset fans.

“The 2021 game began in late 2016 and when it comes out, it will have required between four and four and a half years of development,” he said. “Its development is very similar to that of the original Resident Evil 3, not the remake, but I’ll get into that later”.

“The announcement will be made very soon, and it’s by far the most distant game from the series to date, so much so that I hope many people will be upset when it’s revealed, but they should open their minds.

The next game will be released for current and next-generation consoles, and it wouldn’t surprise us if it would be announced in June, considering that Capcom probably has something prepared for E3.
