Resident Evil has proven to be a vibrant franchise that has undergone several changes of direction in its 23-year history. It began with the proposal of pure survival horror, with its fixed cameras, its shocks and its puzzles to solve. With Resident Evil 4, the first round of the saga was completed, with a new camera on the shoulder and a greater waste of footage focusing more on the plot. However, although the fourth episode was a success, it would soon give the franchise the status of the living dead (in honor of the subject) with an uncertain identity and try to satisfy a more casual audience by sacrificing the essence that made it great.

Resident Evil 7 brought new hope, and not only that, but its graphics engine was the perfect tool to bring back the soul of the saga with the remake of Resident Evil 2 and with Nemesis about to invade our homes.

This rumor joins the already long list of rumors about the future sequel of the saga.

These statements come from the leak that would be our main enemy in the eighth installment of the franchise. It seems that Ethan Winters, who repeats the lead role along with the already ordained Chris Redfield, will face an ethereal being, apart from the aforementioned lycanthropes and armored zombies, that is closer to what a ghost would be than the product of a biological weapon.

The idea doesn’t seem a bad one at first, as long as the scriptwriters know how to fit this new twist of the screw into a universe with such established foundations as Resident Evil. In any case, we still have a long way to go to see where this will lead. For now, from Xbox Generation, we advise you to keep an eye on all the new information we bring you, but most importantly, enjoy this April with the remake Resident Evil 3, we’re counting every second that is left to put our hands on it, and you?
