PlayStation 5 promises that loading times will almost disappear, which players appreciate for improving gameplay and immersing themselves in the action. In addition to the benefits for players, developers will be able to reduce working time due to new CPU power of PS5. So far, the SSD and the elimination of load time has been the most commented on by developers in the industry. However, it was Tim Ash of BoxFrog Games who revealed in a recent interview for GamingBolt that the PlayStation 5 features will help to significantly shorten the development time of video games:
Tim Ash, member of BoxFrog Games, developer of the Lost Wing video game, noted that the PS5’s AMD Zen 2 processor is a “major technological breakthrough” for developers when it comes to developing new titles.
A developer has revealed that the new PS5 CPU will help significantly reduce game development time
The PlayStation 5 CPU could reduce game development time
“It will definitely be a breakthrough. It frees us from many limitations and lets us perform many calculations, we have so many ideas that are very difficult to house impossible to perform in the current generation of consoles. It also significantly reduces development time because you have to spend less time optimizing the game,” Ash said in an interview.”
That’s the opinion of Tim Ash, whose next game Lost Wing is currently in advanced Steam access and will soon be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. However, we’ll have to wait for Sony to present the PS5 to see if Tim is really right, and everything points to the next generation of the console coming out in February 2020.
