NVIDIA plans a special event (21-21) to showcase the next generation of GeForce RTX 30 on September 1

The details have not yet been revealed by NVIDIA, but at this point, it is almost 99.9% certain that this time Boss Huang will personally announce the next generation of RTX 30 series gaming graphics cards based on the Ampere architecture! NVIDIA announced a “special event” for September 1, presented by NVIDIA CEO and founder Jensen Huang, to showcase the new next-generation GeForce graphics cards.

The company has a new announcement on its official GeForce website that leads to a countdown. The announcement is full of memories of the late 1990s and the golden age of PC games, where we see low-resolution monitors, the original GeForce 256, and dial-up Internet.

NVIDIA RTX 30 is here! Jen-Hsun Huang will give a memorable presentation

I can say that I’m a gamer, a bit of a nerd, and a big kid inside, so it’s amazing to see all the references from the late ’90s and see what the golden age of PC games was. But it’s nice how NVIDIA does it, how it touches our hearts, what kindles this nostalgia by taking us back to 1999 and the first GPU: the GeForce 256.

But is there something we can see, or is it my imagination? I say this because of the many mentions of number 21 at NVIDIA.

A short summary of number 21:

  • 21 days until the unveiling of the next-generation GeForce.
  • 21 years since the first GPU.
  • 21 years since the first GeForce graphics card.
  • The first GeForce graphics card was the GeForce 256
  • The GeForce 256 was offered in 2 different VRAM options: SDR and DDR.
  • The 256 through 21 = 5376 and then 5 + 3 + 7 + 6 = 21.
  • AMD has its Navi 21 already on the way.
  • Navi 21 will compete with Ampere.

The thing is this: NVIDIA will host a “special event” for the next generation GeForce on September 1st.
NVIDIA is referencing the TNT2, which at the time was made with the 220nm node, dethroning the then 3Dfx Voodoo 3, which was up to 50% faster, supported Direct3D 7.0 and more. Does NVIDIA refer to the “up to 50% performance”?

I remember reading reviews back then… and thought how amazing it would be to write reviews about graphics cards.

Whatever it’s called, I think the GeForce RTX 3090 is very good, if it’s 50% faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, then we’re in for a very BIG one.

There are many rumors about the RTX 30 series, which had previously stated that it would be released on September 9th on paper and then unlocked on September 17th, and that the non-public version of the card under the AIC brand name would debut at the same time or almost the same time as the public version of the card in the Founders Edition.
