That’s why we’ve seen so many fake games circulating online. And many are marketed using fake cartridges, forcing the company to take action. Something they’ve already done.

It seems that Nintendo already expected this to happen, as the company is using anti-piracy techniques. And these techniques they are using are starting to work well, because there are users whose accounts are being blocked.

Users who have used illegal copies of the games have commented that their accounts are being blocked. In addition, they are being permanently blocked. The reason for this is that each Nintendo Switch Game Pak has an ID assigned to it, which identifies the user when using the online features of the game. This verifies whether the cartridge is original or not.
Therefore, the origin of the problem can be detected quite easily. And this has happened with these users. As their cartridges were not original, their accounts have been permanently blocked. It seems that also the online functions, although this is not known if this is true in all cases.
It’s clear that Nintendo Switch takes piracy very seriously and will not stand by and watch. We will see if there are more users who see their account blocked in the next few days. And we will also have to check whether or not this blockade is permanent.
