If you want a monitor with a really high refresh rate, the Oculux NXG251 25-inch MSI TN panel-based NXG251 may be one of the best options available today.
Oculux NXG251 with 240 Hz refresh rate and a response time of only 0.5 seconds
This monitor upgrades to an amazing 240Hz frequency with an incredible response time of just 0.5ms. To put it in perspective, most of the gaming panels you can see on the market reach 144Hz with a response time of 3-5ms. The panel is the first MSI display with a G-Sync module in its product portfolio.
The NXG251 also supports AMD’s FreeSync technology. With FreeSync and the high update rate, we can run some games at over 200 fps, without any’ghosting’. The NXG251, which will be available later this year, also provides 300 nits of brightness.
Some TVs also have 240Hz scanning frequency, but computer monitors are not that great. Some of the “rivals” of the Oculux NXG251 include Alienware 25, AOC AGON AG251FZ, Viewsonic XG2530 and some other models. All of them are 25 inches in size, Full HD resolution, TN panel, 240Hz scan frequency but only MSI screen with 0.5ms response speed.
In addition to the Oculux NXG251, MSI also introduced the Optix MAG491C, a gaming screen with 144Hz scanning frequency, a 3ms response rate and a resolution of 3840×1080 pixels, basically, two monitors coupled together.
Oculux available at the end of the year from 599 dollars
The Oculux NXG251 will be available in the fourth quarter of this year at a suggested retail price of $599, which appears to be a high cost, even for that phenomenal refresh rate. We will catch up with more information as we receive it, but we have no hope that that price will change as we approach its launch.
