MSI announces its MPG Z490 Carbon EK X, VRM monoblock motherboard for only $399

A few weeks ago, MSI showed us the first pictures of their new MPG Z490 Carbon EK X motherboard and now revealed the full details of this model, including its fascinating price.

The motherboard contains a liquid-cooling monoblock developed by EK Waterblocks that allows heat generated by both the CPU and the VRM to dissipate, eliminating concerns about overclocking. Of course, we also need the rest of the liquid cooling system to use it, although thanks to this monoblock we don’t have to worry about the CPU or the VRM. To avoid problems, it also includes a pressure verification system that ensures that there are no losses in our liquid cooling system and that our hardware is not damaged.

Apart from this addition, the motherboard is identical to the original MPG Z490 Carbon and supports PCI-E 4.0, 4800 MHz memory, Ethernet 2.5 Gbps, USB 3.2 Gen2x2 20 Gbps, Audio Boost 4, Wi-Fi 6 and 12+1+1 power phases.

The most impressive thing about this motherboard is its price, which is only U$S 399, much cheaper than the other Z490 with monoblock, which cost more than U$S 999. Obviously its specifications are much lower, but it’s an excellent choice for those who want to try this type of cooling without spending a crazy amount of money on a motherboard.
