ASRock announced its luxurious Intel Z490 Aqua motherboard, which is equipped with an integrated liquid cooling and became the absolute flagship of the brand.
Only 999 units of the ASRock Z490 Aqua are produced
The ASRock Z490 Aqua has an integrated liquid cooling, PCIe 4.0 support, overclocking possibility, and a metallic white design.
Unfortunately, ASRock manufactures only 999 units of this motherboard, which is only intended for performance enthusiasts. This is not the first time that ASRock has released a limited edition motherboard of this type. Last year, ASRock did so with the X570 Aqua.
Newegg lists the ASRock Z490 Aqua for $1,099.99 with release date May 20th. This is $100 more than the AsRock X570 Aqua released last year for AMD CPUs. ASRock announces it as their new flagship motherboard, but the limited quantity and high price make it clear that it will be for only a few.
With copper PCB, PCIe 4.0, and “up to 95% VRM efficiency”, the main feature here is the built-in Aqua Cooling Armor liquid cooling.
The white aluminum frame certainly reminds of glaciers, and the programmable RGB lighting underlines the overall design of the ASRock motherboard.
A metal plate covers most of the back of the motherboard, while a similar metal plate surrounds the PCIe slots, three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots prepared for PCIe 4.0, and two PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. Two M.2 SATA slots and four DDR4 RAM slots are also visible. The motherboard also has two Thunderbolt 3 connectors.
One of the most surprising things about the announcement is that the official website confirms support for PCIe 4.0, which may have something to do with future Intel ‘Rocket Lake’ processors.
