Microsoft is working on a streaming video game platform

Although the company had recently shown its intentions to bet on the world of streaming video games, it was not until E3 2018 that the announcement became official. As Phil Spencer himself confirmed during the conference, the company’s engineers are currently working on a streaming game service that will work on any device. This way, the platform will be compatible with Xbox, PC and smartphones.

Despite the interest generated during the conference, Spencer has not wanted to give any date of availability, although according to previous statements, we should expect Microsoft’s video game streaming service in less than three years. At this point, it is important to bear in mind the huge number of unsuccessful attempts in this sector. For example, some time ago we talked about the closing of OnLive. In addition, many of today’s solutions suffer from latency, which worsens the user experience.

On the other hand, Microsoft also took the opportunity to make a clear announcement, confirming that the company is working on the next generation of Xbox. Among other things, Spencer mentioned that the company’s engineers are experimenting with the potential of artificial intelligence in the world of video games, something that will bring more realism to the titles of the coming years. For now, we will have to wait to see how the above statements materialize.
