Today, Microsoft has decided to launch a new feature for users who are currently testing the beta app “Your phone”, bringing your smartphone features to Windows 10. This allows them to send and receive text messages (SMS) in addition to sharing images from an Android device.
For now, only users of the Windows Insider program will be able to use the SMS synchronization feature, which is exclusive to Android devices. The integration of SMS into the application was announced by Microsoft last May when it launched “Your Phone”.
However, when the first beta version of this application was released to the public, SMS support was not integrated because the Redmond company had pledged to release updates and new features as the app was accepted by the public. With this new update, everything indicates that Microsoft is now ready to integrate synchronization of photos and SMS for all users of the application in October.
First impressions of this new SMS integration are positive due to the fact that it doesn’t depend on Microsoft’s cloud service, which makes SMS updates fast.
In fact, message notifications can be displayed in the Action Center. However, these notifications are not well integrated as they cannot react or interact from the notification itself, but the company is expected to include this possibility in future updates.
Right now, for insiders users, the ability to send and receive SMS messages, including the ability to update the Microsoft app in Android and enable this new feature has been achieved. The company has promised that the features will be 100% operational for all users by October.
