Dell Mobile Connect offers many features, some of which are unique. For example, the mirror function includes options to reduce battery consumption when the phone is connected to the PC. The latest version introduces support for third-party application notifications on the iPhone.
It is possible to make and receive phone calls, show contacts, send and receive text messages and enjoy phone applications directly on the PC screen. At the same time, the user can use the functions of their iOS or Android smartphone with the mouse, keyboard, and touchscreen of their PC.
Dell Mobile Connect requires Android 5.0 or at least iOS 10 to run. Dell is cautious and indicates that there is no guarantee that all devices will work properly. On the PC, it is necessary to use Windows 10 Creators Update or higher.
For computers, Dell specifies the availability of its XPS, Inspiron and Vostro with Bluetooth purchased in January 2018 or later. Dell states that:
“Dell equipment purchased before January 2018 does not offer the compatibility required to deliver the high quality expected from Dell products. We are currently working to extend compatibility with Dell equipment purchased before January 2018.”
