Microsoft has suspended VR glasses for Xbox One

Microsoft planned to release VR glasses for the Xbox similar to the PlayStation VR.

According to Cnet, Microsoft actually worked on virtual reality glasses for Xbox One, relied on its own sources and even worked with developers to create VR content. Unfortunately, these plans have probably been stopped because of the lack of technology to provide a more immersive experience.

Also, journalists found Microsoft’s console glasses were pretty neat, but they were not as good as Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. So we can assume that the headset should be similar to the capabilities of PlayStation VR.

Since 2014, the VR world has seen a number of visions about Microsoft’s interest in virtual reality. More than two years ago, at the E3 2016 conference, Microsoft announced that it would be able to support high-quality virtual reality technology through the unveiling of Xbox One X. Unfortunately, the console has not yet received special VR glasses like the PlayStation 4, which is currently the most efficient of its kind on the market.

According to Mike Nichols (Microsoft’s Chief Marketing Officer for Games), interviewed by Gamesindustry.biz in June that there are no concrete plans for the introduction of VR glasses in Xbox One. According to Microsoft, virtual reality technology makes optimum use of its potential on the PC.

Last year, the Xbox manufacturer released a range of VR glasses that work with desktop and laptop computers, including headsets from various manufacturers such as Samsung, HP, and Dell, much like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
