Lenovo introduces a variety of new devices, including a yoga laptop trio, the Yoga 9i 14 and 15, and the Yoga Slim 9i. As expected, these will come with the latest processors from Intel, with promising graphics based on the Intel Xe architecture in the 14-inch models.
Lenovo Yoga 9i, introduces three new laptops with Tiger Lake
The Yoga Slim 9i is only available as a 14-inch screen, and as the name suggests, the laptop has a slim profile of 0.54 inches and weighs 1.19 kilograms. It is thinner than the Galaxy Book Flex from Samsung, but a little heavier. The Yoga Slim 9i is also lighter than last year’s new MacBook Air and XPS 13 2-in-1, and they all have smaller screens.
The Yoga Slim 9i has a black leather cover “attached to a slim metal frame for durability”. There are three Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, which Lenovo has carefully placed on both sides of the laptop.
Lenovo has also thinned out the bezels and called them “microbezels”, which offer a screen to body ratio of 90.5%. The IPS screen reaches up to 4K at 500 nits brightness and comes with Super Resolution 2.0 software that uses AI to upload Full HD video content to 4K in Windows Media Player and most browsers.
If you don’t need such a thin one, the Yoga 9i 14 and 15 are similar to the Slim 9i, but with a thickness of 0.57 and 0.77 inches respectively. These two features a physical webcam shutter, a pen that you can attach, and whose 360-degree hinges allow you to rotate the screen. But there are some disadvantages: For one thing, the 14-inch 9i has only two Thunderbolt 4 ports compared to Slim’s 3.
While the 14-inch Yoga 9i is also available in leather, the 15-inch Yoga 9i is only available in metal. The larger 9i also has other features and can be equipped with up to Intel Core i9 HK series mobile processors and up to NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti graphics processors with Max-Q design. All three systems have similar IPS displays with support for DisplayHDR 400.
Prices and availability
The 14-inch Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i laptop costs from 1899 euros including VAT and is expected to be available from November. The 14-inch Lenovo Yoga 9i 14-inch convertible laptop starts at EUR 1799 for the leather-covered model (including VAT) and the 15-inch all-metal model at EUR 1999 (including VAT), both expected to be available in October.
