Lenovo VR3030S: independent virtual reality headset registered with the FCC

A new submission to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) highlights the appearance of a new Lenovo handset, the Lenovo VR3030S, which is being introduced as a stand-alone virtual reality (VR) handset.

As we know, Lenovo is not one of the best companies in VR equipment but this time the registration of this new product may change the horizon for the brand.

Lenovo VR3030S: Lenovo independent VR headset

The world of Augmented Reality (AR) and VR headsets has grown exponentially in recent years, and with the technological advances that have been made in these areas, it is not surprising that several technology companies are presenting more advanced projects.

In this sense, and although the report to the FCC does not present more details about the design and internal functioning of this new Lenovo VR3030S headset, what we do know is that the term independent means that, this device as the previous model from Lenovo will not require a phone or PC to be connected to the device.

According to the source, one of the FCC files shows the label ‘Lenovo Mirage VR S3′ and although it is not known if this will be the trade name, it is believed that this new model could be an upgraded version of the Mirage Solo headset, based on the design of the PlayStation VR and the Google Daydream VR platform.

Finally, it is expected that this new model of the headset will bring the company into this growing field, which of course means greater complexity for its development and an enormous satisfaction for using these headphones with technologies that help users perceive their environment differently.
