The introduction of the ninth generation of Intel Core processors is coming closer, and rumors are getting louder. Today the Coolaler page talks about the next i9-9900K, i7-9700K, and i5-9600K with possible specifications.
Three processors for three areas that have a common point with 95W TDP. The rest of the specifications highlight many differences, including one important one regarding the Core i7.
i9-9900K
Hearts / Threads: 8/16 Frequency: 3.6GHz L3 cache: 16MB Boost 1/2/4/6/8: 5.0GHz / 5.0GHz / 4.8GHz / 4.7GHz / 4.7GHz
i7-9700K
Hearts / Threads: 8/8 Frequency: 3.6GHz L3 cache: 12MB Boost 1/2/4/6/8: 4.9GHz / 4.8GHz / 4.7GHz / 4.6GHz / 4.6GHz
i5-9600K
Hearts / Threads: 6/6 Frequency: 3.7GHz L3 cache: 9MB Boost 1/2/4/6/8: 4.6GHz / 4.5GHz / 4.4GHz / 4.3GHz / NA
The latter, which was announced in earlier rumors as a processor with 6 cores and 12 threads, would become a processor with 8 cores and 8 threads and thus call the current nomenclature into question. We have to wait a little longer to be sure.
Specifications to take, as always, with tweezers or even grill tongs, especially since the small i5-9600K had leaked directly at Intel with a lower frequency of 100Hz on the turbo.
The new information appeared, they concern exactly the core i9-9900k and i7-9700k, Intel would have decided to weld the HIS of its future processors on the die, so this would have the effect to prohibit all delid (this was already the case with the Ryzen of AMD). This solution would have been chosen to improve thermal release. The Core i5-9600K processor would use the classic thermal compound.
