Intel Core i9-9900K, between 560 and 690 €

Intel’s next showcase of its mainstream offering, the Core i9-9900K, appears in several online stores. Without official price information, the prices are currently between 560 and 690 euros.

With the introduction of the Core i9-9900K, Intel will soon be joining AMD in the 8-core processor segment. This high-end solution not only offers 8 physical cores in conjunction with hyper-threading technology. It is the opportunity to launch a new brand in the consumer market, Core i9, which was previously reserved for the HEDT offering.

Core i9-9900K, details

This processor has already revealed much of its mechanics. We will have an 8C/16T solution with 16 MB L3 cache and a UHD 630 graphics solution. Its memory controller supports DDR4-2666 MHz in dual-channel operation. The thermal envelope will be 95 watts. On the question of frequency, several values are proposed depending on the number of cores used. At full speed, we have 4.7 GHz to 4.8 GHz with 4 cores, 4.8 GHz on 6 cores and 5 GHz on 1 or 2 cores.

This Core i9-9900K is offered as part of a new series. Intel will also launch the Core i7-9700K and Core i5-9600K. Here, too, changes are planned. Hyper-threading disappears with Core i7 in favor of four additional physical cores and Core i5 counts on six physical cores.
To return to pricing, Intel has not yet formalized anything, but some online stores are starting to refer to these new products, including the Core i9-9900K.

It is possible to find it for 561 € for some, but also for an even higher price of 689 € for others. In this shop, the Core i7-9700K is shown for 539 €. Note that their description sheets were quickly removed by CentralPoint.

These future processors will use an LGA 1151 socket and will work on the current Z370 motherboards. Finally, interesting information accompanies the whole thing. Availability is scheduled for September 7.
