We are approaching towards the new Intel Core 9000 series with a growing tendency, and now its prices are listed in the United States. As we have already mentioned, the i7-9700K is around the price of the i7-8700K, and the Core i9-9900K is slightly below with US$ 500.
Currently, the silicon lottery reports both of them as “out of stock”, either because they have sold their entire inventory of advance orders or because they have not yet built up inventories. However, the Core i9-9900K is listed for $479.99 and the Core i7-9700K for $369.99. These prices do not seem to be far from what has been observed in recent generations, so there are two possibilities: Either the silicon lottery does not charge any additional fees for these processors, or Intel has decided to sell these cheaper than expected.
It will be interesting to see these Intel 8-core processors. Undoubtedly, the 8-core and 16-thread model will be an interesting CPU, yet it’s definitely paying off against the 330 US$ of the Ryzen 7 2700X?
It seems hard to believe, yet we can’t take anything as a matter of fact until the new processors officially come onto the market, and look at what their retail prices are in the major stores. An important innovation of these processors is that they come with the welded IHS, at least with the Core i7 and Core i9 models.
