Intel Core i9-10850K is listed and confirms specifications

Intel will soon add a new CPU to its tenth generation family, known as the Core i9-10850K. The CPU was first seen in a filtered entry earlier this month but has now been listed on Digital Storm’s official website, confirming that the chip will soon be on sale.

Intel Core i9-10850K is listed and confirms specifications

The latest leak comes from Digital Storm, where the chip is now listed on the System Configurator website, which not only mentions the chip but also confirms the specifications and expected price of the Core i9-10850K CPU itself.

Apparently the previously reported specifications were correct, and the Core i9-10850K will indeed be configured similarly to the Core i9-10900K, except for the fact that it has a lower clock rate of 100 MHz for both the base and boost frequencies.

In summary, the new Intel Core i9 CPU will have 10 cores and 20 threads. The final chip clock rates will be configured at 3.60GHz base (3.7GHz on the Core i9-10900K) and 5.2GHz boost (5.3GHz on the Core i9-10900K). The CPU has 20 MB L3 cache and a total of 2.5 MB L2 cache. The TDP isn’t mentioned for this model, but considering that the remaining unlocked chips come with a 125W profile (PL1), we can expect the same from the Core i9-10850K.

In addition to the specifications, the configurator also indicates the expected price of the Core i9-10850K. For a configuration with the Core i7-10700K, the configuration with the this processor is $73 more expensive. Considering that OEMs buy the chip in large quantities and get slightly lower prices than the suggested retail price, the Core i9-10850K would end up costing about $450. The Core i9-10900K is sold for 549 USD.

We’re not sure if the Core i9-10850K will be available exclusively for the OEM channel or will hit the shelves in stores, but the chip might explain the shortage behind the Core i9-10900K. We’ll keep you informed.
