We’ve known for a few weeks now that Intel is preparing the introduction of its 10th generation Core. This family, known as Comet Lake-S, will produce a new flagship model, the Core i9-10900K.

This processor, which is still based on a 14nm engraving, will be equipped with 10 physical cores and 20 logical cores thanks to Hyper-Threading technology. The various leaks that affect it result in a fundamental frequency of 3.7 GHz for a turbo mode at 5.1 GHz (4.9 GHz on all cores in an ideal situation), all of which have a thermal envelope of 125 Watts.

This showcase has just been discovered in the GeekBench 5.1 benchmark database. It was tested with an ASRock Z490M Pro 4 motherboard equipped with 32 GB DDR4.

The test software delivered a score of 1437 points in the single core area. We didn’t find any noticeable difference to the 9th notebook’s capabilities here, but the difference is clearly noticeable in multi-core mode with a score of 11390 points. It is explained by two physical cores and 4 additional threads.

For comparison: The current Core i9-9900KS (8C/16T @ 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz, TDP of 127W) has a multi-core score of 9458 points. The difference is about 20%.
