The new power module meets the growing demand for increased power density without increasing package size. Thanks to the application of larger area chips and modified DCB substrates. Which lands the new IGBT in a mature 62 mm package.
Infineon Technologies AG further strengthens its 62 mm package IGBT module lineup. The new power module meets the growing demand for increased power density without increasing package size thanks to the application of larger area chips. And modified DCB substrates in a mature 62 mm package. 1200 V Typical applications for blocking voltage modules also includes: frequency converter, solar inverter and uninterruptible power supply (UPS), 1700 V blocking voltage module is suitable for medium voltage inverter.
IGBT Application of high power rating
So works with 1200 V blocking voltage of the 62 mm module rated current up to 600A, 1700 V blocking voltage module up to 500A. Which makes Infineon in the rated current level ahead of all the competitors. The package is available with industry-standard substrates and is therefore easily compatible with existing designs. For example, if used in a frequency converter, it can increase the output power by 20%. This product portfolio uses IGBT4 chips – a proven technology that is proven to be very stable and reliable.
Two models of new power modules can also provide a “common emitter” configuration Which supports the establishment of three-level topology (NPC2). In this way, these power modules are used efficiently for solar and UPS applications where power requirements are high.
IGBT Availability
The new 62 mm power module is currenlty in large volume production. They are also supplied with pre-coated thermal media (TIM) modules. Infineon also offers 34 mm and 50 mm package thyristors with a new soldering technology. That is a rectifier diode module that perfectly matches the new 62 mm IGBT module.
