The 360-degree camera market is booming, and there are already a large number of devices that can record 360-degree videos in virtual reality. To stand out from the crowd, Marine Image Technology (MI Tech) has developed a 360 underwater camera for professionals.

Consisting of 10 cameras (eight in horizontal and two vertical circles), this camera records 8K, 4K or 4K stereoscopic videos. The cameras are Sony UMC-S3CA cameras with SLR Magic lenses.

This product shines with its ability to take high-quality pictures even in low light conditions. Thanks to Sony sensors it is possible to film with a minimum brightness of 0.004 lux (ISO 409.600).

The weight of the device is approx. 35 kg. It can be submerged to a maximum depth of 300 meters and of course, withstands salt water. Depending on the filmmaker’s needs, the camera can be connected to a metal arm or an underwater robot.

Memory capacity and autonomy allow continuous recording for about two hours. An underwater control module extends the recording capacity to eight hours. Nine of the cameras can be remotely controlled during recording.

Once the videos are recorded, Hydrus VR automatically compiles them. You can choose between spherical video resolution 8192×4096 at 30 fps, 4096×2160 at 120 fps or 4K stereo for VR. Thanks to this little pearl of technology, impressive underwater virtual reality films will soon see the light of day.
